Job Summary

Job Title: System Administrator
Location: Staunton VA 24401
Contract Duration: 04 months (Possiblity of extension)
Work Mode: Onsite

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our team and support the Transportation Operations Center. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in systems administration including Linux (REDHAT) Windows OS Servers hardware deployment and troubleshooting. This role involves providing excellent customer service resolving break/fix issues and supporting cybersecurity efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Configure and deploy new/replacement Linux (REDHAT) and Windows OS Servers as well as desktop/laptop hardware.
Provide Tier 1 and Tier III support for end-user resources including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Maintain up-to-date project and architecture documentation as well as inventory and maintenance records.
Monitor system resources for server anomalies apply patches and conduct regular security monitoring to identify potential intrusions.
Perform daily system monitoring and backups ensuring the integrity and availability of hardware systems and key processes.
Support team efforts to enhance cybersecurity controls and assist in threat hunting and mitigation.
Install and configure server hardware services and applications including GIS and Asset Management systems.
Provide support for Active Directory Administration VMware virtualization and backup/recovery operations.
Perform regular performance tuning capacity planning and system optimizations as necessary.
Work with impacted constituencies to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software failures.

Required Skills & Experience:

5 years of experience configuring and deploying Linux (REDHAT) and Windows Operating Systems Servers.
5 years of experience with desktop/laptop/server hardware.
5 years of experience with Active Directory Administration and VMWare virtualization.
5 years of experience in Backup and Recovery operations.
5 years of experience in Help Desk Support and providing exceptional customer service.
Strong knowledge of system administration monitoring troubleshooting and support processes.
Experience supporting cybersecurity efforts and understanding security best practices.

Desired Skills & Experience:

3 years of hands-on experience with network equipment.
2 years of experience with Video Management Systems.
Microsoft Certifications or related certifications (e.g. MCSA MCSE).
Experience with Audio-Video Support
