Job Summary

Job Title: Internet / Web Engineer
Location: Columbia SC
Duration: 9 Months (Potential for Extension)
Interview Type: Virtual
Work Mode: 100% Remote

Project Scope:
This project focuses on the development and support of the EDI Services and Medicaid Web Portal application managed by the Medicaid Information Technology Services (MITS) team. The engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the new technology development work specifically for the Member Management replacement project.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Web-based Distributed Systems Architecture and Design:
- Design develop and implement enterprise-level web-based systems for large user bases.
- Plan for responsive user interfaces using modern Web 2.0 technologies (e.g. AJAX) and ensure mobile compatibility (smartphones and tablets).
- Develop Java applications using industry-standard frameworks (e.g. Spring) and ensure scalability and availability of applications.
- Integrate services into system design where applicable.
Software Project Lifecycle Management:
- Apply modern software development practices with a strong focus on unit testing and integration.
- Participate in the full software lifecycle from analysis and design through to testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with business analysts and end users to turn business needs into incremental software projects.
Communication:
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders including business users analysts software engineers database architects quality assurance teams and infrastructure staff.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

7 years of experience with Tapestry
7 years of experience with JavaScript
7 years of experience with jQuery
7 years of experience with EDI Transactions
7 years of experience with JDBC

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience with Java
Experience with UC4
Experience with ActiveMQ
Experience with Unix variants and Unix Scripting
Experience with SQL
Experience with MongoDB
Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) experience

Required Education:

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
