Job Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) provides nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include data collection implementing orders and performing therapeutic procedures appropriate for the patients age and condition adhering to established policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) provides nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include data collection implementing orders and performing therapeutic procedures appropriate for the patients age and condition adhering to established policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Location:Chicago Illinois United States
Responsibilities:
- Gather and report patient data.
- Implement patient care orders.
- Perform therapeutic procedures.
- Provide appropriate nursing care as directed by an RN.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Perform any other related duties (e.g. clerical technical duties) as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain license two weeks prior to starting employment.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Proof of successful completion of coursework for medication administration (Pharmacology) as a Practical Nurse in accordance with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain license two weeks prior to starting employment.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Proof of successful completion of coursework for medication administration (Pharmacology) as a Practical Nurse in accordance with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- One (1) year recent full-time paid clinical experience in an acute care health facility or ambulatory care facility.
- Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines etc.
- Two (2) years of experience in direct patient care.

Special Considerations:
- Mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facilitys discretion.
- Correctional Facility environment.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Charting: Cerner.

Scheduling:
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month.
- RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.
