Litigation Associate
About the Role:
This is a full-time in-office Litigation Associate position based in Raleigh North Carolina. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on complex business-focused litigation matters. You will play an active role in representing businesses across a range of disputes including commercial litigation construction law equipment leasing and finance litigation commercial creditor bankruptcy and general creditors rights.
The position is well-suited for an attorney who values hands-on responsibility courtroom exposure and long-term career growth within a collaborative firm culture. Regular presence in the Raleigh office is required with periodic travel for court appearances across the state (approximately 10% 25%).

Key Responsibilities:
- Represent business clients in commercial and creditor-related litigation matters
- Draft pleadings motions briefs and other litigation documents
- Appear in state federal and bankruptcy courts as required
- Participate in negotiations mediations and settlement discussions
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic case analysis
- Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on case strategy and client solutions
- Contribute to the growth of the practice through client development and professional engagement
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of litigation experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Commercial Litigation
- Construction Law
- Equipment Leasing & Finance Litigation
- Commercial Creditor Bankruptcy
- Creditors Rights
- Experience in a private litigation practice with an understanding of the business aspects of law firm operations
- Active North Carolina Bar license in good standing
- Strong legal research writing and analytical skills
- Effective courtroom presence and negotiation abilities
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Self-motivated with an interest in business development and practice growth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dual licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina or willingness to obtain South Carolina licensure
- Three or more years of litigation experience in federal state and/or bankruptcy courts
- Preference for an in-office work environment and a collaborative team-oriented culture
