This position provides administrative and substantive legal support to Family Law attorneys playing a key role in managing cases from initial filings through hearings mediation and trial. The role involves significant client interaction detailed document preparation and hands-on involvement in case strategy and courtroom readiness.

Key Responsibilities:
- Draft affidavits complaints pleadings and supporting documentation for court filings
- Prepare replies to counterclaims discovery responses consumer dispute documentation and memorandums of law
- Prepare and process requests for extensions of time and continuances
- Communicate with clients to obtain discovery responses and provide case updates
- Review and summarize discovery responses from opposing counsel
- Work closely with attorneys on escalated matters arbitrations trial preparation and witness coordination
- Assist with trial and mediation preparation including organizing and preparing exhibits and exhibit notebooks
- Record track and manage deadlines through docketing and calendaring systems
- Negotiate and draft settlement agreements
- Ensure files are hearing-ready by reviewing case notes and preparing motions orders and properly labeled documents
- Monitor update and review case information to provide regular email updates to clients
- Screen and manage incoming calls mail and correspondence from courts law enforcement counsel and opposing parties
- Perform legal research and support monthly online compliance training and testing
- Complete other related duties as assigned by management or supervising attorneys
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Five or more years of Family Law experience in North Carolina with strong knowledge of NC family court rules
- Associate degree and/or North Carolina Paralegal Certification preferred
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel
- Experience with electronic court filing systems
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience tracking and recording billable hours and related time entries
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Typing speed of 50 words per minute
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
