Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator to support maintain and evolve our Windows Server environments. This role is responsible for executing standardized server builds managing lifecycle activities including decommissioning and ensuring all work complies with established change management and approval processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented process-driven and comfortable operating in regulated enterprise-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities
Execute Windows Server builds using approved gold images templates and standardized configurations
Implement and maintain server hardening and configuration standards in alignment with security and compliance requirements
Perform server decommissioning activities including dependency validation data archival access removal and documentation updates
Ensure strict adherence to change management processes including change request creation impact analysis approvals scheduling and post-change validation
Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server related incidents across development test and production environments
Apply operating system patches updates and fixes in accordance with patch management schedules and maintenance windows
Collaborate with infrastructure security application and network teams to support integrated solutions
Maintain accurate system documentation runbooks and operational procedures
Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as required
Support audits and compliance reviews by providing evidence system data and operational artifacts
Required Qualifications
3 years of hands-on experience supporting Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022)
Strong understanding of Active Directory Group Policy DNS DHCP and file services
Experience executing server lifecycle activities including build support and decommissioning
Working knowledge of ITIL-based change management and enterprise approval workflows
Proficiency in troubleshooting OS-level issues related to performance availability and security
Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware Hyper-V) and basic cloud concepts (AWS/Azure is a plus)
Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell preferred)
Exposure to configuration management and build automation tools
Understanding of security hardening standards and vulnerability remediation
Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOC 2 ISO 27001 HIPAA etc.)

Zero-defect server decommissioning with no residual access or dependencies
Full compliance with change management audit and operational controls
