JPMorgan Chases Card Installments Technology team is seeking a Java / AWS Software Engineer to support the design development and enhancement of high-volume customer-facing installment lending platforms within the Consumer & Community Banking organization. This role sits within a fast-paced regulated environment and requires strong backend engineering skills cloud-native development experience and the ability to collaborate closely with product architecture and risk partners.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a strong path to full-time conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and support Java-based microservices supporting card installments and consumer lending capabilities
• Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS leveraging modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven services for high-throughput low-latency systems
• Collaborate with product owners architects and QA teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews architecture discussions and production support activities
• Ensure solutions meet JPMC security risk compliance and resiliency standards
• Contribute to system scalability performance optimization and reliability improvements
• Support Agile/Scrum delivery processes in a highly collaborative team environment

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of professional Java development experience (Java 8)
• Strong experience building Spring / Spring Boot microservices
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2 S3 RDS/DynamoDB Lambda ECS/EKS IAM CloudWatch)
• Experience developing REST APIs and working with JSON/XML payloads
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design design patterns and clean code principles
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Jenkins GitHub/GitLab etc.)
• Experience working in Agile environments

• Ability to work onsite in NYC 5 days per week
• Experience in financial services consumer banking credit cards or lending platforms
• Exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures
• Experience with containerization (Docker Kubernetes/EKS)
• Knowledge of security compliance and risk controls in regulated environments
• Prior experience working at JPMorgan Chase or other Tier-1 banks
• Long-term contract with strong potential for full-time conversion
• Full integration into JPMC engineering teams and standards
