As an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) in neurosurgery your duties will include providing comprehensive care to patients with neurosurgical spine conditions conducting patient assessments ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests managing preoperative and postoperative care prescribing medications coordinating patient follow-up providing patient and family education collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams participating in research and quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. What Youll Do:

As a valued member of our healthcare team the PA/NP will play a key role in team-focused patient care conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in the outpatient settings. Responsibilities include:

1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
2. Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic the necessity preparation nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
4. Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
5. Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.

7. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

Requirement To Start:

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Requirements:

1. Graduation from an accreditedNurse Practitioner Program is required to start
2. Valid license by the North Carolina Boardof Nursingas aNurse Practitioner is required to start
3. Valid American Heart Associationor Red CrossBasic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to start
4. Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for prescription writing is required to start

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Masters Degree preferred
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License Certified by NCCPA
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start
• Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or urgent/emergent care environment
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing is required to start
