Security Cleared BIM Manager- Defence Programme- London, Derby, Sheffield, Glasgow

Join a nationally significant defence programme as a BIM Manager where you will lead the development and deployment of information management strategies within a secure and complex environment. This role offers the opportunity to gain or enhance Security Clearance (SC) and establish yourself as a subject matter expert in BIM delivery across major programmes. You will drive digital transformation deliver measurable client outcomes and foster collaboration across the supply chain to maximise value and performance. 

Key responsibilities 

• Develop and implement BIM strategies that align with client requirements and industry best practices 

• Author and maintain BIM documentation and workflows in accordance with ISO 19650 and the UK BIM Framework 

• Lead the rollout of BIM processes across client organisations programmes and individual projects 

• Communicate BIM strategies and workflows effectively to internal and external stakeholders 

• Identify project risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies 

• Collaborate with clients design teams and contractors to ensure consistent application of BIM methodologies from strategy to delivery 

• Manage and mentor BIM teams fostering a culture of quality and innovation 

• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and project meetings to drive alignment and engagement 

• Conduct structured reviews and clash detection of project models using industry-standard tools 

• Analyse project data to ensure compliance with requirements and generate actionable insights 

• Produce high-quality reports and documentation to support project decision-making 

• Review and validate work produced by colleagues to maintain Turner & Townsends quality standards 

• Support project teams with BIM deliverables and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives 

• Enhance Turner & Townsends BIM documentation and processes through active participation and feedback 

• Lead and contribute to bid proposals showcasing BIM capabilities and value 

• Provide line management and professional development support to team members 

• Research emerging technologies and assess their applicability to client needs 

• Represent Turner & Townsend as a digital services ambassador within the defence sector.

• Must be able to work on site in derby 2/3 days per week with the potential to travel to other client sites

• UK Security Clearance required

Qualifications :

Qualifications essential skills and experience 

• Degree-qualified in Architecture Engineering Construction Management or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience 

• Proven experience delivering BIM strategies and solutions on complex infrastructure programmes 

• Strong understanding of BS EN ISO 19650 standards and the UK BIM Framework 

• Familiarity with international BIM standards and their application in secure environments 

• Proficient in developing and maintaining BIM documentation workflows and implementation plans 

• Hands-on experience with Common Data Environments (CDEs) and BIM-enabled project delivery 

• Skilled in 3D modelling software such as Revit ArchiCAD or similar 

• Competent in model interrogation and clash detection using tools like Navisworks or Solibri 

• Working knowledge of data visualisation platforms such as Power BI or Tableau 

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences 

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams manage deliverables and mentor junior staff 

• Eligible for SC clearance; sole British nationality preferred due to programme sensitivity. 

Desirable skills 

• Prior experience working within defence or other secure/government environments 

• Experience contributing to bid proposals and business development activities 

• Workshop facilitation and presentation skills 

• Methodical detail-oriented approach with a proactive and inquisitive mindset 

• Confidence in challenging assumptions and driving innovation in digital delivery.
