About your new job
As a Junior System Accountant you will step into this newly created role supporting the documentation implementation and optimisation of Warakirris finance systems and processes. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the finance team you will help map current finance workflows support process improvements and assist with basic testing as part of a broader finance project.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early on in their finance career who is keen to build a deeper understanding of end-to-end finance processes and develop their career within a growing organisation
Key responsibilities include:
- Documenting current (as is) finance processes using provided templates with a focus on Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay.
- Recording system usage manual steps and key process details and clarifying information with the finance team where required.
- Supporting future-state process work by comparing current workflows with standard finance process examples.
- Assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by following test scripts and entering sample transactions such as invoices and payments.
- Checking basic outputs including postings payments and simple reports and logging issues clearly for resolution.
- Supporting change management and knowledge transfer by assisting with training materials and helping the finance team after go-live
Qualifications :
About you
You dont need years of experience but you do need the right mindset. Youre likely someone who enjoys working with systems processes and detail and is excited to learn how a finance function operates end-to-end. You may be:
- Currently studying Accounting or Finance or are early in your career and have experience in transactional finance.
- If you bring great Excel skills that would be a bonus.
- Comfortable following templates instructions and structured processes.
- Highly organised accurate and proactive in asking questions when something is unclear.
- A clear communicator who can work well with different stakeholders across the finance team.
- Keen to develop your skills and grow into broader finance systems and process improvement work over time
