Job Summary

The Stope Serviceperson is responsible to work in the operational stopes and development ends to maintain machinery and equipment for production

Roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Receive and follow instructions from Engineering
  • Foreman/Artisan
  • Perform necessary maintenance and repair work on equipment.
  • Perform basic fault-finding activities on defective units and maintenance actions.
  • Request equipment and stock requisitions required
  • Completing job cards and description of work and spares used
  • Perform dismantling repair re-assembly and installation tasks
  • Report any malfunctioning to Engineering Foreman/Artisan -
  • Complying with maintenance/breakdown schedules
  • Ensure that all required tools material and spares are available to perform tasks
  • Communicate to engineering personnel any unexpected problems
  • Effective two way communications with team members
  • Report to Engineering Foreman/Artisan when task complete
  • Accompany and support Engineering Foreman/Artisan when inspecting work
  • Promote safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
  • Perform work outside normal working hours when required
  • Complying with maintenance schedules
  • Compiling accurate shift and work order reports
  • Completing and signing off allocated work orders
  • Completing job cards and description of work and spares used
  • Participating in meetings
  • Compiling safety injury risk and incident reports
  • Assisting during breakdowns or emergencies

This role is on a C1 level reporting to the Senior Electrical Foreman


Qualifications :

  • Minimum Grade 12 Maths and Natural Science
  • Certified Competent as Stope Serviceman (UG hard rock)

Experience

  • 18 months previous experience as Engineering Repairperson Multi Discipline

Knowledge and Skills

  • Communications in English
  • Multi-disciplined Engineering knowledge
  • Complete Engineering Repairperson Discipline Specific training.
