Our Hamilton Branch is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Valve Technician to join their this role you will be responsible for the refurbishment overhaul maintenance and testing of a wide range of valves including ball gate butterfly control and safety relief valves. Your work will support diverse clients across petrochemical industrial and energy sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out valve refurbishments & overhauls
- Repair and test various valves including but not limited to ball valves gate valves butterfly valves safety relief valves etc.
- Undertake Valve examinations maintenance and repair
- Perform disassembly cleaning inspection measuring reassembly and testing of valves.
- Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and ASME National Board standards that apply to the job.
- Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
- Adhere to all safe working practices look after yourself and those around you.
Qualifications :
What Youll Bring
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter & Turner
- A keen interest in engineering with at 3 years engineering experience
- 2 years valve-specific work
- A thorough understanding of API 526/527 standards
- Must have knowledge of Valve maintenance including Block Ball Gate Control and Relief valves
- Mechanical understanding of tools machinery and orifice measurements
- Petrochemical industry experience (ideally 5 years)
- Knowledge of gasket assembly bolting and compression
- Current clean NZ drivers licence
- NZ residency or valid NZ work visa
