Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Broxtowe to assist with the appointment of an Estates Officer on a 3-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 16.33- 21.37 per hour

Summary:

The Estates Officer is responsible for the proactive day-to-day management of Broxtowe Borough Councils property portfolio which includes retail units industrial estates office spaces and community assets. Working under the Head of Service and Estates Manager you will manage a dedicated caseload ensuring that all land and property assets are optimized compliant and financially sound. This role balances professional landlord-tenant negotiations with essential financial administration such as service charge reconciliations and rent account management.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute lease renewals rent reviews license agreements and lease terminations in line with RICS principles and the Councils Scheme of Delegation.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for vacant units including property inspections viewings marketing negotiations and instructing external consultants for complex cases.
  • Assist with annual asset valuations for financial accounting providing data to auditors and external valuers as required.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tenants and internal departments (Legal Finance Economic Development) to ensure a corporate integrated approach to property management.
  • Conduct site inspections and investigations to draft professional reports for delegated decisions and Cabinet submission.

Essentials:

  • Proven track record of managing a diverse property portfolio (Retail Industrial or Office).
  • Practical experience in applying RICS principles to lease renewals rent reviews and tenancy agreements.
  • Experience in service charge administration budget management and handling rent arrears.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders.
