About this opportunity:

The Cenovus Energy Lima Refinery is looking for an Area Business Team Technical Manager to provide strategic leadership to drive safe reliable and efficient performance across the assigned business area. This role partners closely with Operations and Maintenance to prioritize resources deliver technical solutions and support longterm continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background datadriven decisionmaking skills and the ability to influence crossfunctional teams to achieve business goals. They will guide consistent management of people equipment and processes to improve asset reliability and overall profitability. Relocation to Lima OH required.

What youll do:

  • Provide technical leadership to ensure safe reliable and efficient operation of the assigned business area aligning strategies with division and department goals.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Business Team Leads to prioritize resources resolve technical challenges and drive longterm continuous improvement that strengthens asset reliability and profitability.
  • Coordinate and guide technical staff by setting clear expectations managing workflows and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Identify and mitigate operational process safety and environmental risks through evaluation of operating plans risk reviews and adherence to Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) and Safe Operating Limits (SOLs).
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts by defining unit performance metrics reviewing technical KPIs and developing targeted action plans that enhance business performance.
  • Develop technical capability within the team by supporting training participating in staffing and performance feedback processes and providing coaching and mentorship to build longterm expertise

Who you are:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or technical field related to petroleum refining or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years refining petrochemical or relevant experience with 3 years of leadership experience
  • leadership experience with strong communication organization motivation decision making and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)
