Job Summary

SCR Mining and Tunnelling L.P. is hiring for the role of Shaft Miner.

This position is for employment at a remote location.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a Shaft Miner your duties include:

Perform shaft rehabilitation and construction in accordance with engineering specifications and work plans.
Install and maintain shaft infrastructure including dewatering system concrete lining timber guides other services and ground support systems.
Operate shaft-related equipment and tools safely and efficiently hoisting and service installation equipment.
Install and maintain utilities such as air water ventilation dewatering and communication systems within the shaft.
Follow all established policies procedures and best practices as well as industry specific regulations.
Always be physically and mentally fit for work.
Identify unsafe conditions and report promptly.
Comfortable and experienced with working at heights.
Follow directives from shift supervisors.
Loading pocket construction.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

Minimum Education: Common core completion as well as related MTCU modules specifically U0084 Perform Shaft Maintenance.
Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a shaft miner. Experience in timber shafts is considered an asset.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Experience working in a camp setting (FI/FO).
Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Compensation

The compensation range for the position is competitive and based on experience. Hourly base wages are $25.00 plus an hourly incentive bonus between $35.00 and $50.00
