To support the roving detained property and crime filing supervisor in maintaining the local detained property and crime filing holding stores oversee the temporary storage and transfer of detained property and crime files within LPAs collaborate with Facilities Management in the disposal of flammable and hazardous substancesin the provision of high quality effective and efficient support to the operational policing of the force.

Supporting the Estates Management Team with the detained property and crime filing across the estate

The role is part of the Corporate Asset Management department within the Facilities section which comprises of printing services uniform supply and secure storage.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Maintaining the upkeep of the local Detained Property and crime filing holding stores Force wide with customer experience being at the centre of the services delivered
  • Work to the health and safety guidelines in line with the detained property policy
  • Transfer of detained property crime files and tapes to Central Store

  • Responding to general requests and enquiries from internal customers by email telephone letter CX portal and in person including return of items

  • Updating property systems

  • Relocating items preparing for transport and external storage baying up items receiving goods sorting disposal and/or destruction of property and crime files.

  • Working closely with a number of internal and external suppliers as part of day-to-day role. i.e. hazardous waste contractor

  • Working to policy legislation and guidance (CPIAData Protection Act 2018 MoPi)

  • Working collaboratively as part of wider team

  • Actively work with customers to support with new ways of working.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working in a logistical role

  • Experience of administrative duties

  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety

  • Good customer service skills in a frontline role

  • Ability to follow set processes procedures and policies

  • Effective team working experience

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using internal police system i.e. Connect CX portal

  • Experience and knowledge in the Connect system

  • Experience of working in customer services and/or stock control environment

  • Experience of working with Detained Property Tape Libraries and Crime Files

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance CPIA MOPI PACE Data Protection.
