Position Overview
Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Manager Health Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBH) the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team ensuring quality patient care outcomes and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice.
Experience
- Minimum two (2) years Intensive Care Nursing experience required.
- Charge Nurse experience required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Post-basic Critical Care Nursing Program required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current CRNM registration required.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
- Advanced BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrated effective organizational interpersonal critical thinking/problem-solving leadership and decision-making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required.
- Demonstrated clinical competence required.
- Demonstrated teaching ability required.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities required.
