Paving Transfer Machine Operator

Key Information:

We are seeking a reliable Transfer Machine Operator to join our asphalt paving crew. The ideal candidate has experience operating a material transfer vehicle works well within a team environment and is willing to assist in other areas of the crew as needed to complete projects efficiently.
Employment: Seasonal
Hours: Project dependent
Must be willing to work evenings/nights and weekends on various schedules.
Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description:

Operate the transfer machine safely and efficiently during paving operations
Maintain consistent material flow to the paver
Communicate with truck drivers paver operators and crew to ensure smooth operations.
Assist with other duties within the paving crew as required.
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Follow all safety procedures traffic control plans and company policies
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

Minimum 1 year experience operating a transfer machine
Experience working on an asphalt paving crew.
Highway or municipal paving experience.
Experience working around live traffic.
Ability to work within different areas of the paving crew as needed.
CSTS 2020 WHMIS 2015 and Ground Disturbance 201 are required.
A valid class 5 or better drivers license is required.
A drivers abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
Must comply with all company policies.
Able to work under pressure.
You have a safety conscious attitude and able to work with others in a team.
A reliable means of transportation is required.
Proficient English language skills required.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
