- Complete daily pre-use inspections prior to using a crane and other material-handling equipment
- Follow and demonstrate proper rigging procedures and techniques
- Move required material to the designated locations within the yard
- Load joist and deck and other material on the trailers for shipping
- Maintain control of load at all times
- Properly and promptly report maintenance concerns
- Shunt trailers in the yard (as required)
- Advise workplace parties of quality issues/concerns as identified
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is worn at all times
- Practice good housekeeping including 5S requirements and time management in the performance of daily duties
- Comply with all legislated and companys health safety environmental quality and Lean policies procedures and programs
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Ability to operate an overhead crane forklift (combilift) and trucks (shunting)
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions everyday
- Ability to read and understand job requisitions and the ability to work independently and as a team
- Position also requires the physical ability to climb ladders onto trailers as necessary to secure product
- Position requires the willingness to work overtime when needed to meet customer needs
- Physical ability to routinely lift up to 50 lb is also required
