Location: 664 Collins Street Docklands - Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office)

About the role:

Youll lead a small team delivering expert compliance and enforcement support for the regulation of complex industrial facilities helping to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment. Youll play a key role in building partnerships driving high standards and supporting EPAs strategic priorities.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with regional operations teams to implement compliance and enforcement audits reviews and actions for complex industrial facilities aiming to improve compliance outcomes and prevent harm to communities and the environment.
  • Provide specialist technical expertise to support effective frontline regulation of complex industrial facilities in line with EPAs strategic priorities.
  • Plan oversee and deliver programs to enhance the regulation of complex industrial facilities using risk-based approaches to address environmental and human health challenges.
  • Represent EPA in engagement with the community duty holders and government stakeholders.
  • Build internal capability in complex industrial facility regulation through training mentoring coaching and expert advice.

Skills and experience:

  • Senior-level experience and recognised expertise in the regulation of complex industrial facilities with a detailed knowledge of Victorias environmental protection laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead develop and motivate teams contributing positively to an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
  • Models positive behaviours supports and develops staff and demonstrates strong project and program management skills including risk-based approaches.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across community industry and government.
  • Brings a genuine desire to learn share knowledge and make a meaningful difference to environmental and human health outcomes.
