Water Systems Consulting Inc. (WSC) a premier engineering consulting firm is looking for students currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering City and Regional Planning or Construction Management program with an interest in water and wastewater. Under the mentorship of our staff engineers planners and project managers you will gain experience on a variety of challenging and exciting water and wastewater design and planning projects.


WSC provides planning and engineering services and has ongoing projects in water resources management and planning hydraulic modeling and master planning infrastructure design program / construction management asset management operations assistance and energy consulting among others. We serve municipal and private clients in the water industry from eight office locations throughout California and the Pacific Northwest including our headquarters in San Luis Obispo.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in staff public and client meetings
  • Modeling of water delivery systems
  • Prepare simple hydraulic calculations and analysis
  • Assist in the research planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Perform technical writing and assisting with development of technical reports
  • Conduct site visits
  • Coordinate with subconsultants and vendors
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Provide general program and construction management support

What You Bring

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time program seeking a B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering City and Regional Planning Construction Management or a Related Field
  • Candidates must be in good academic standing and proficient with MS Office and have Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills. Interview process includes review of current transcript (unofficial transcripts are sufficient)
  • Preferred qualifications include some prior experience with AutoCAD ESRI (GIS) and/or Hydraulic Modeling Software
  • Experience and high performance under the pressure of deadlines
  • Proven time management skills
  • High career aspirations and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment

Pay Range: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00 hourly and may be more or less depending on experience.
