Fixed-Wing UAV Test Pilot
ICEYE is looking for a test pilot experienced in unmanned systems operations to join its aircraft development team. As a Fixed-Wing UAV Pilot you will be responsible for preparing and executing ground and flight testing campaigns as well as assisting in aircraft manufacturing/preparation. The Fixed-Wing platform is a very large wingspan aircraft with a tight flight envelope and an extremely lightweight construction with ability to fly longer missions than any other atmospheric fixed-wing aircraft.
You will be part of a small dedicated team facing an exciting challenge. Responsibilities
- Develop & assist ICEYE flight operations
- Plan flight testing campaigns with engineering focus
- Pilot unmanned aircraft both through RC setups & manned aircraft setups (throttle lever stick & rudder pedals)
- Assess and report flight testing results
- Assist in development of piloting tools automations and processes on the path to performing extended flights at scale
- Assist in aircraft systems development
- Assist in aircraft prototyping and systems testing
- Assist in aircraft and operations related documentation development
- Coordinate developments with operations-related contractors
Requirements
- 10 years experience in unmanned aircraft remote piloting
- Valid remote pilot license (EASA)
- Experience in unmanned aircraft testing and operation
- Experience in aircraft prototyping & manufacturing
- Proactive can-do attitude and love for aerospace are expected!
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 1000h of manual RC flights with large glider-type platforms (>7m wingspan)
- Experience with very large wingspan HAPS (or equivalently challenging) aircraft testing
- Familiarity with lightweight aerospace structures manufacturing
