Job Summary

Our Ladys Hospice & Care Services (OLH&CS) is overseeing the Joint Recruitment campaign for Palliative Medicine Registrar vacancies for July 2026 intake.

TUH IS NOT TAKING APPLICANTS

The Tallaght University Hospital Palliative Care Team has two Consultants two Registrars (one shared with Medical Oncology) an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and three Clinical Nurse Specialists. The service sees over 600 new referrals a year with a broad range of both cancer and non-cancer diagnoses. Both consultants hold joint appointments with Our Ladys Hospice & Care Services Harolds Cross and the registrars on-call commitment is to that site. There are extensive educational audit and research opportunities across both TUH and OLHCS and the post has for many years provided an excellent platform to those seeking to progress their career in Palliative Medicine. A further full-time post is jointly shared between Medical Oncology (0.6) and Palliative Medicine (0.4). Medical Oncology in TUH is a large specialty with four consultants seven NCHDs and busy in- and out-patient services including an oncology day-ward and several multi-disciplinary meetings. This post offers a novel opportunity to gain experience in both specialties and is again an excellent platform for career progression. Tallaght University Hospital

Tallaght University Hospital is one of Irelands largest acute teaching hospitals adult psychiatric and age related healthcare on one site. The hospital has 450 adult beds with over 3500 people on staff and more than 60 different nationalities represented. The Hospital is a provider of local regional and national specialities. It is a designated trauma unit incorporating the National Pelvic and Acetabular Unit a regional Urology Centre and the second largest provider of renal dialysis services in the country.

  • Satisfactory evidence of currentACLS / APLScertificate.NCHDs who participate in Crash Call include those working in Adult and Paediatric Medicine Adult and Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Anaesthesia.It is not permitted for you to be a member of the Crash Call team without a current certificate.
