Job Summary
The Field Quality Engineer will support the Field Quality Team. The Quality Engineer will develop document and implement troubleshooting and investigatory methods for Zoox vehicle components. This position will foster strong cross-functional partnerships to improve Zoox products and the customer experience. The Engineer will use their technical background to perform failure analysis on vehicles and at the bench record their findings and communicate critical information to the cross-functional team.
In This Role You Will:
- Develop and document troubleshooting test methods with cross-functional teams to root cause failed components
- Coordinate with the BaseOps team on field service campaigns
- Design review and feedback to respective design teams
- Specify and source new equipment for failure analysis
- Work with the Reliability Team to identify and communicate trends within Zoox
- Create/update quality documentation
- Perform RCAs drive investigations and product/process improvements
- Travel to service locations to review field failures (10-25% travel)
Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 4 years experience in automotive EV or aerospace
- Ability to read technical drawings GD&T and navigate CAD models
- Broad technical background with mechanical and electrical systems experience with chassis thermal or powertrain systems would be highly desired.
- Strong failure analysis abilities and poke-yoke
- Experience performing root cause analysis on electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to effectively communicate investigation findings and technical information

$178000 - $214000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling as well as positioning within a level is determined by a range of factors including but not limited to a candidates relevant years of experience domain knowledge and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
