Job Summary

Position Description Summary:

APT Research is hiring a Contract Accounting/Program Analyst to support the SMASS Program Management Office on the KSC Safety and Mission Assurance Support Services (SMASS IV) contract at Kennedy Space Center FL. This person will provide project cost accounting Estimates at Complete contract financial reports and coordinate administrative tasks. Essentially this individual will support the Program Manager in running all the SMASS Program Office tasks.

Responsibilities: Specific tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Critical Skill: Generate and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to NASA and internal management. This includes multiple detailed NASA monthly financial reports (MFMR EAC LDR and LOE) utilizing Microsoft Excel
  • Maintain the estimate to complete by updating monthly with current requirements through research of ongoing operations employee extra hours and/or paid time off and analyzing historical data utilizing Microsoft Excel. This requires coordination with multiple project stakeholders to understand staffing travel and other direct cost projections
  • Analyze project cost variances and provide discussion/explanation for the variances
  • Performs analysis of Labor rates and hours to ensure accurate data in financial reports
  • Implement multiple evaluation tools to ensure the quality and satisfaction of the monthly financial deliverables
  • Prepare cost estimates for NASA and internal management
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the S&MA Support Services contract
  • Create report templates and other administrative processes as needed
  • Coordinate all administrative programs including badging training travel requests expense reports and equipment and moves for all SMA Support Services contract employees
  • Communicate with internal and external customers on the financial reporting program and provide any information or answers as required

Required Experience/Education:

  • Strong organizational skills attention to detail and financial analytical capabilities are a must
  • Bookkeeping or project control experience on a government contract
  • Must have expert level Microsoft Excel and MS tools (Word PowerPoint etc.)
  • Must have solid understanding of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Procedures)
  • High School diploma with 7 years of experience or a Bachelors Degree with 3 yrs experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting NASA contracts or other federal government agencies

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Position subject to pre-employment background investigation
  • Position subject to a pre-employment drug test
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance required
  • Must be able to qualify for an unescorted badge (US Citizen required)

Travel Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to lift >15 lbs.
