Were a dynamic team pushing the boundaries of combustion engine design to revolutionize propulsion and power generation.Position Overview: The Application Technician will support the integration testing and optimization of LiquidPistons engine technologies into customer applications with a focus on electrical and electronic systems. This hands-on role involves collaborating with engineering teams to ensure seamless deployment of our engines in real-world scenarios such as UAVs hybrid power systems and military equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented technically skilled and passionate about innovative energy solutions.Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the assembly installation and configuration of electrical components in engine prototypes and application test setups including wiring harnesses sensors controllers and power electronics.
- Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting of integrated systems to validate performance efficiency and reliability under various operating conditions (e.g. multi-fuel operation vibration and environmental stresses).
- Support application engineering efforts by preparing test fixtures data acquisition systems and instrumentation for dyno testing and field trials.
- Collect analyze and document test data using tools like oscilloscopes multimeters and data loggers to identify issues and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical software and design engineers) to integrate electrical systems with engine controls and hybrid architectures.
- Provide technical support to customers and partners during engine integration phases including on-site visits if required.
- Maintain laboratory equipment ensure safety protocols are followed and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
- Assist in prototyping new electrical features such as advanced ignition systems or battery integration for hybrid applications.
- Prepare reports and presentations on test results and application performance for internal reviews.
Qualifications:- Associates degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology Electronics or a related field; Bachelors degree preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a technician role preferably in automotive aerospace or power systems testing.
- Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (e.g. multimeters oscilloscopes signal generators) and basic programming for data analysis (e.g. Python or LabVIEW).
- Familiarity with engine controls ECU programming CAN bus protocols or hybrid electric systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and customer interactions.
- Willingness to work in a lab setting with occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) and exposure to noise/vibration.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to potential work with military applications.
