Lead Field Service Technician

Thermal Works LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Field Service Technicianto join our team working directly with the Thermal Works team as well as local contractors focusing on Startup/Commissioning and Service for all Thermal Works equipment. We are looking for someone who is a detail-oriented individual that is goal oriented with a foundational knowledge in HVAC. This individual should have good written and verbal communication skills. TheLead Field Service Technicianneeds to be agile professional trustworthy with confidential information and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. The right person can work equally as well independently as with a team.

Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:

• Participate in a comprehensive training program at Thermal Works U.S. headquarters.
• Manage Preventive Maintenance and Service schedules.
• Perform on-site quality Control for the installation of Thermal Works products.
• Perform all preventative maintenance and service needs for clients.
• Be available to take emergency issues when on call.
• Monitor service software closely to ensure services are met on a timely schedule.
• Collaboration with different departments within the company for product development and improvement.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of thermal works equipment.
• 75% travel requirement within Spain.

Skills & Requirements
Education / Experience

• Technical or Vocational Degree/Certification in HVAC Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Systems (e.g. Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior en Mantenimiento de Instalaciones Térmicas y de Fluidos in Spain).
• F-Gas Category I Certification (in accordance with EC Regulation No. 517/2014) is required for handling fluorinated gases.
• 35 years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems for mission-critical infrastructure including data centers healthcare or industrial facilities.
• Must have experience with chillers and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) units encompassing installation commissioning preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with EU safety standards pressure equipment directives (PED) and EN 378 refrigeration safety norms.
• Capable of performing diagnostics repairs and system optimizations in live environments.

Specific Skills / Abilities

• Baseline circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Knowledge of hydronic systems.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems.
• Understand refrigeration theory as well as hands-on applied sciences.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (additional European languages are a strong plus).
• Ability to read drawings at a basic level.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
