Background:
The Director will leadandmanageprojectteamswhile keepinganeye on measuring key outcomes for our clients in our Strategic Communicationspractice. This role supports our clients within the Health & Wellness Energy & Utilities and Public Affairs successful candidate has experience leading strategic communications initiatives within the public affairs realm.
The Director works closely with the project and creative teams to develop and execute comprehensive communications plans. These plans may include content development earned media social media stakeholder engagement publiceducationand outreach campaigns project team they will transform complex issues into visual stories with compelling narratives.
The Director is a strategic thinker that bringsnew ideasand a fresh perspective to communicate highly technical materials into digestible terms for the public. They are an experiencedprojectmanagerandwillmanagemultipleprojectteamsscopesandresources closelymonitoringdeliverables and tracking metrics for successful outcomes.
TheDirectorworkscloselywithclientstoengagetargetaudiencesandeducatethemon project goals and benefitsultimately buildingconsensus thatshapespublic policy. The ideal candidateisastrongwriterandpublicspeakerandiscomfortablefacilitatingmeetingswithtop- working with diverse community groups and building stakeholder engagement plans and coalitions is preferred.
JobResponsibilities:
Provideinternalandexternalaccountstrategyandcounselaswellasgenerate thoughtful and actionable ideas while leading projects and campaigns.
Developandimplementcomprehensivecommunicationsinvolvingstrategicplanning publicinvolvementand campaign management.
Developandmanagecomprehensivepublicengagementstrategytoengagediverse audiences and stakeholders.
Generateoriginalandengagingcontentforonlineandprint.
Spearheadclientpromotionalcampaignsincludingcreatingeditinganddisseminating
publicationsreportswebsitecontentsocialmedianewslettersandprintmaterials.
Identifyappropriateexternalforumstoconveyclientstoriesandsupportclient spokespeople for speaking engagements.
Manageanddevelopateamofcommunicationsandcreativespecialists.
Developandmanagetaskordersincludingscopeofworkandcostproposal.
Overseeprojectaccounthealthincludingcontractcomplianceandbudget.
Interfacewithcommunicatewithandprovidecounselforclients.
Travel within the state of Illinois to attendandmanagein-personclienteventsandfunctions.

10yearsprofessionalexperienceincommunicationsfor/withinpublicaffairs
Strongfamiliaritywithpublicaffairspolicylocalandstategovernmentandstakeholders
Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsincludingpublicspeakingandthe ability to convey complex technical topics in a clear and concise manner
Experiencemanagingprojectteamsand/orjuniorreportsisrequired
Skilledatworkingwithminimalsupervisiononhigh-profileprojects
Deepexperienceingovernmentorstatewidecommunicationscampaignsispreferred
Bachelorsdegreeinpublicpolicycommunicationspoliticalscienceorrelatedfield
