Job Summary
As Iowas News Leader KCCI 8 News is home to a passionate fast-moving team dedicated to delivering the stories that matter most to our community. Were offering dynamic summer internships in our News Sports and Weather departments for students eager to learn contribute and never run out of ways to make an impact.
What Youll Do:
- Jump into the action by supporting producers reporters anchors and meteorologists in daily newsroom operations
- Research write and help produce content for on-air and digital platforms across news sports and weather
- Bring fresh story ideas to editorial meetings and collaborate with experienced journalists
- Shadow live broadcasts field shoots and breaking news coverage
- Engage audiences through social media and digital storytelling
- Take initiative and find ways to contributetheres always something to do at KCCI!
Who Should Apply:
- Self-starters who are curious adaptable and ready to pitch in wherever needed
- Passionate about news sports or weather and eager to learn from industry professionals
Internship Details:
- Departments: News Sports Weather (please indicate your preference in your application)
- Duration: Available through August 23rd 2026

- Compensation: Paid
