Victoria University (VU) Sydneys partnership with ECAestablished more than a decade agooffers internationally recognised and industry-relevant courses to both international and domestic students. We deliver a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in business information systems and early childhood education.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer. This role supports effective management decision-making by ensuring the accurate accounting analysis and reporting of revenue expenses assets and liabilities across VU Sydney and Brisbane and ECA Corporate activities. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity providing timely and reliable financial information and supporting planning forecasting and performance monitoring.

The role requires regular interaction and collaboration with Business Heads Finance teams and other internal stakeholders to understand operational activities and translate them into accurate financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the VU Sydney and Brisbane finance officers fostering collaboration with operational teams to enhance overall financial management and strategic outcomes.
  • Process agent-related transactions including receiving reviewing and verifying agent invoices for commissions bonuses and marketing support.
  • Record agent payments in the Real Time Online Management system following execution of payments in the General Ledger.
  • Process non-agent vendor payments by booking accounts payable in the General Ledger.
  • Prepare weekly bank reconciliations for all college bank accounts.
  • Record and reconcile credit card expenses on a monthly basis
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement efficiency and stronger financial controls.

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience in accounts payable or reliable preferably in the higher education industry.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and engage effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the ESOS Act and National Code relevant to international education.
