Role Overview
The Loan Distribution Group (LDG) APAC is INGs dedicated fully integrated underwriting and distribution platform for all financing activities in the primary and secondary loan markets across Asia-Pacific. The platform also utilizes the insurance market as a risk and/or capital distribution tool and is responsible for structuring and executing various structured distribution solutions (including Forward Flow Partnerships Structured Portfolio Sales and Significant Risk Transfers). LDG APAC is INGs centre of excellence for the end-to-end distribution value chainfrom origination to structuring and execution and actual selldown. LDG APAC is a key part of the Capital Velocity value chain.
Purpose of the Position
The Head of LDG APAC manages the APAC-based LDG businesses overseeing teams in Singapore Hong Kong and Sydney. This senior management position requires strategic vision broad experience in-depth product knowledge and excellent relationship and leadership skills. The role reports functionally to the Global Head of LDG and hierarchically to the Region Head of CMA-APAC.
The position is also a core member of both the Global LDG Management Team (MT) and the CMA APAC Management Team (MT).
Team Leadership
LDG APAC consists of c. 12 FTEs across three major financial hubs. As people manager you will foster a highly engaged and integrated department spanning multiple locations. Critically important will be talent identification professional development and implementing successorship plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a growing team of professionals including hiring training coaching/mentoring compensation and performance management in collaboration with hierarchical line managers across different teams.
- Drive the integration of teams into one LDG APAC platform ensuring collaboration and unlocking synergies.
- Further develop and lead the distribution capability in APAC enabling the bank to distribute originated assets to private debt investors including banks and non-bank accounts aligned with the wider WB vision and Capital Velocity strategy.
- Driving OneCMA collaboration across multiple product areas and ING international network
- Ensure alignment and cooperation with Sector organizations and various Lending teams. Key stakeholders include the Capital and Liquidity Expertise Centre Group Treasury and Risk Management.
- Contribute to the development of the CMA-APAC Management Team supporting the build-out of the CMA platform regionally stimulating cooperation between CMA teams and promoting commercial excellence and the people agenda.
- Actively participate as a core member of both the Global LDG MT and the CMA APAC MT contributing to strategic decision-making and the broader leadership agenda.
Candidate Profile
- Postgraduate Masters degree (e.g. MBA/MSc/LLM) desirable.
- Senior banker with at least 15 years of experience strong relationship management skills and extensive knowledge of loan distribution and associated risk through primary and secondary cash markets and the insurance market.
- Proven track record in the APAC syndicated loan market with a well-established network across key stakeholders including clients institutional investors and syndicate desks to drive successful deal origination execution and distribution.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify business opportunities based on comprehensive industry and market knowledge. Commercial drive with well-developed risk awareness.
- Proven people leader/manager able to unite specialist teams and create a shared vision.
- Track record of connecting people fostering diversity and inclusion and serving as a role model.
- Excellent collaboration skills able to work across functional and hierarchical reporting lines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to earn trust and respect of clients colleagues and senior management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound market/underwriting risk judgment.
- Thorough understanding of finance accounting and the regulatory environment in banking.
- Experience with and understanding of the Capital Markets & Advisory organization values strategic agenda and vision.
