Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Consulting Manager to join our firm-wide Healthcare Advisory practice. The position can be remote and is open to qualified candidates anywhere within our geographic footprint.

Position Details:

  • Lead operational assessments within a clients pharmacy departments including inpatient outpatient infusion centers retail pharmacy and specialty pharmacy service lines.
  • Evaluate medication-use workflows including order verifications inventory management dispensing controlled substance management compounding and medication distributions technologies.
  • Work directly with clients to help identify opportunities for cost savings revenue optimization and process improvement in pharmacy operations that focus on charge capture improvements drug procurement strategies waste reduction and inventory optimization.
  • Analyze clients pharmacy operational performance metrics including productivity benchmarks staffing models turnaround times and medication reconciliation workflows.
  • Assist clients with pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) needs including reviewing PBM contracts analyzing PBM performance and working with HR/benefits to align a strategy that meets the clients desired goals.
  • Lead 340B Drug Pricing Program assessments. Perform assessments of regulatory compliance procedures and controls to ensure all 340B regulatory compliance requirements are being met.
  • 340B assessments will include performing testing reviewing client documents and contracts identifying opportunities for program enhancements and preparing and assisting with the delivery of thefinal assessment reports to clients.
  • 340B compliance engagements will also provide an opportunity to work with clients to identify revenue optimization and growth opportunities within their programs.
  • In addition to working on 340B assessment projects you will also have an opportunity to work on projects related to 340B implementation services Retail Pharmacy consulting Chargemaster Pricing engagements and other pharmacy related projects.
  • Participate and lead pharmacy business development efforts through involvement with referral sources community and industries vendor shows and other forms of business development.
  • Perform other pharmacy consulting duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree Pharmacist Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least 5-8 years of relevant Pharmacy consulting or healthcare experience.
  • 340B Drug Pricing Program experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with PBM and employee benefits strategy is ideal.
  • Proficient computer skills are desired (Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint).
  • Apexus Certified Expert (ACE) certificate preferred or completed within first nine months of employment.
  • Strong analytical technical and problem-solving skills required; data analytics experience is preferred.
  • Ability to oversee prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in helping clients and coworkers.
  • Ability to travel to client locations mostly day trips; overnight travel is occasionally required.
