A Day in the Life:
Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Grain elevator production operations department shift. Support the Production Manager of Operations in monitoring and improving plant productivity.
Position Details: 12-hour rotating shift (48-hour week/36-hour week)
What Youll Be Doing:
- Develop schedules and assign tasks for hourly employees to achieve production goals.
- Schedule and manage attendance/time off for hourly employees.
- Monitor safety and environmental programs identify and execute improvements.
- Assist with financial management of CapEx and budgets. This duty is performed annually.
- Develop and deliver technical training for job skills and safety.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Participate in development of long-range plans consistent with business goals.
- Assist with special projects.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Occasional contacts with patrons on routine matters.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- High school plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G. data processing clerical/administrative equipment operation etc plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training; Experience in agriculture or operations preferred plus. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers clients public and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
