A Day in the Life:

Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Grain elevator production operations department shift. Support the Production Manager of Operations in monitoring and improving plant productivity.

Position Details: 12-hour rotating shift (48-hour week/36-hour week)

What Youll Be Doing:

Develop schedules and assign tasks for hourly employees to achieve production goals.
Schedule and manage attendance/time off for hourly employees.
Monitor safety and environmental programs identify and execute improvements.
Assist with financial management of CapEx and budgets. This duty is performed annually.
Develop and deliver technical training for job skills and safety.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Participate in development of long-range plans consistent with business goals.
Assist with special projects.
Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Occasional contacts with patrons on routine matters.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

High school plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; E.G. data processing clerical/administrative equipment operation etc plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training; Experience in agriculture or operations preferred plus. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers clients public and other employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions ratios and proportions to practical situations.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
