Compensation range: $49140.00 to $93073.00

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer/Planner to join our operations this role you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials components and services needed to support production schedules and business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Place all Purchase Requisitions for services and maintenance for the plant. Enter and review purchase orders in SAP.
    • Assist other depts with PO entry.
  • Maintain blanket POs for plant to include Fastenal.
  • Hazardous Waste review/signoff for Maintenance (requires DOT&MADEP & USEAP certified)
  • Set up new vendors in PM4.
  • Order office supplies for plant.
  • Manage inventory of Reel and Pallet and Print Wheel and place orders as needed.
  • Manage raw materials inventory utilizing scheduled and forecasted demand while maintaining necessary safety stocks and delivery promise to support monthly goals.
  • Review requisitions and issue purchase orders daily for all required raw materials while maintaining targeted inventory levels.
    • This role focuses on Compound Mixing Raw Materials Purchased Compounds Colorants Fiber Intercompany Materials Trial Orders.
  • Daily interaction with suppliers sub-contracted partners and transportation to meet delivery promise deliver in an expedited scenario and be a major contributor to superior internal and external customer service.
  • Daily interaction and collaboration with internal Prysmian functions such as Plant Controller Purchasing Plant Receiving Plant Scheduling.
  • Ensure materials are available to meet production schedules as directed by the Master Scheduler and/or detailed schedulers.
  • Analyze and disposition slow moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Perform routine cycle counting of raw materials as required to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Function as the local inventory expert for all areas and become a key player in periodic physical inventories.
  • Pro-actively investigate and resolve vendor problems and complaints. SecureRMAs credits replacement material issue DMRs and requests for corrective action as required.
  • Keep operations team informed of issues that may need further assistance for resolution.
  • Manage internal relationships vendor relationships materials forecasting materials returns material set up.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • Associate degree or a minimum of 2 years experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • 1-3 yrs. of experience in a business environment.
  • 1-3 yrs. SAP and Excel experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
