Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Education Teacher Assistant to support a Grades 35 Autism (AUT) classroom within an elementary school setting. This is a 20-week contract role working closely with a lead special education teacher to provide academic behavioral and social-emotional support to students with autism spectrum disorders.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Support: Assist with implementing individualized lesson plans and academic interventions aligned with student IEPs.
Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention plans and provide proactive support for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
Classroom Support: Help maintain a structured safe and supportive learning environment.
Student Assistance: Provide 1:1 or small-group support with daily activities social skills development and emotional regulation.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers therapists and support staff to promote student success.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum strongly preferred.
Behavioral Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience consistency and professionalism.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
