ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Coaching Development the Coordinator will provide support and guidance in developing leading and executing the vision for Community Coaching Programs and Hockey Development within Hockey Canada and its Members


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL MISSION OF HOCKEY CANADA

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager of Coaching Development the Coordinator will provide support and guidance in developing leading and executing the vision for Community Coaching Programs and Hockey Development within Hockey Canada and its Members

  • Update maintain and support the development of online learning modules to ensure alignment with current coaching standards program requirements and best practices in community sport coaching.

  • Monitor participation and course completion maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports to support program oversight and decision-making

  • Run and review reports within the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Locker and HCR 3.0 to ensure the accuracy and integrity of certification and participation data

  • Collect summarize and analyze participant feedback; identify trends and provide recommendations to support continuous program improvement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for community sport coaching inquiries providing timely accurate information and access to relevant resources

  • Represent Hockey Canada in all Provincial Member coaching initiatives and programs by being the direct connection to the members

  • Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Coaching Development coordinate the delivery and administration of development projects including National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Coaching and Instructional Stream Player Development initiatives Hockey Canada Network APP Drill Hub and Hockey Canada Learning Lab

  • Assist all Members with the administration of both the Hockey Canada Registry and Coaching Association of Canada Locker databases

  • Assist with all meeting logistics including development of power points recording meeting notes and minutes developing post meeting reports of all Member Coaching Task Team and Sr. Leadership Development meetings

  • Assist and support Members with general NCCP programming needs

  • Coaching:

  • Support the logistics of nationally delivered coaching programs such as High Performance 1 High Performance 2 and the Women Master Coach Developer clinics/seminars.

  • Support the ongoing maintenance of NCCP curriculum content

  • Edit / Update / all NCCP materials as per the direction from the Sr. Manager Coaching Development Hockey Canada Coaching Task Team and each coaching program subgroups


EXPERIENCE YOULL NEED

  • A post-secondary education in sport administration education or relevant field of study

  • Strong working knowledge of the Hockey Canada/Membership structure

  • Experience in coaching or player development at the community provincial or national level; active involvement in hockey programming is a strong asset

  • Strong understanding of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model and Hockey Canadas coaching pathways

  • Experience supporting or running coaching clinics player development camps or similar sport development initiatives

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationships management skills; promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and objectives

  • Demonstrated communication skills; ability to use a broad range of communication techniques to effectively communicate to varying audiences in a variety of situations

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow ensure the completion of essential projects and meet deadlines

  • High level of integrity; earns others trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Programs Outlook and ability to quickly adapt to new technology and easily acquire new technical skills

  • Proven track record of innovative thinking

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
