In partnership with ECA the University of Tasmania (UTAS) has been delivering courses in Melbourne since 2023 and in Ultimo Sydney since 2025. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer to be part of our UTAS partnership at Education Centre of Australia (ECA). You will work closely with partnership teams to deliver accurate financial accounting reporting and meaningful insights that inform sound decision-making and enhance performance while continuously strengthening financial systems processes and capability across the partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process agent-related transactions including receiving reviewing and verifying agent invoices for commissions bonuses and marketing support and recording these as accounts payable in the General Ledger.
  • Record agent payments in the Real Time Online Management system following execution of payments in the General Ledger.
  • Process non-agent vendor payments by booking accounts payable in the General Ledger upon receipt of valid documentation.
  • Manage payments relating to licences and external fees college-level operational expenses (including Information Technology support student counselling director fees textbooks Overseas Student Health Cover travel credit cards and promotional gift cards) contract teacher salaries staff reimbursements and other college-related expenses.
  • Preparation of management reports on the revenue and expenses with accompanying commentary and analysis to support decision making for example: performance management opportunities for improvement cost containment.
  • Bank reconciliations student refund management and a range of financial reporting.

As the successful candidate you will:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience including AP Reconciliations Reporting and using ERP accounting systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial accounting principles.
  • Customer focused mindset
  • Co-ordinate the development of budgets forecasts cash flow models and performance measures.
  • Drive process improvements and cost efficiency initiatives.
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking adaptability and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Collaborate effectively across multifunctional teams and stakeholders
