Position Summary
Performs quality diagnostic general and cardiac nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in accordance with standards set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Works within the interdisciplinary team and provides leadership and oversite to the Nuclear Medicine/PETCT department and provides safe and personalized care for patients.
Essential Duties
- Assists with operational oversight and leads co-workers for the Nuclear Medicine/PETCT department. This includes training other Nuclear Medicine PET/CT technologists and leading workflow as needed.
- Performs high quality PET/CT Scan procedures to support accurate diagnosis while maintaining high quality patient care.
- Performs IV injections for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT scan procedures.
- Performs high quality general nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
- Performs high quality cardiac nuclear medicine procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
- Post processes all nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures to support accurate diagnosis.
- Keeps up to date records of patient appointments exams image data and other pertinent information including record keeping that pertains to PET/CT general and cardiac nuclear medicine radiopharmaceutical delivery and dispensing quality control survey records and equipment.
- Follows safe radiation safety practices and protocols for all nuclear medicine and PET/CT Procedures.
- Orders prepares administers stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
- Uses hospital information systems proficiently including but not limited to; EMR scheduling RIS and PACS software applications.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Successful completion from an approved nuclear medicine program required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Work Experience: A minimum of four (4) years experience working in general nuclear medicine and PET/CT required.
- Special Training Certification or Licensure: Current R.T. (NM) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required. Current Nuclear Medicine Advanced Associate (NMAA) certification required. Current CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider certification required. ARRT or NMTCB Certification in CT is preferred. If the ARRT certification was obtained prior to 2000 under special eligibility provision graduation from an accredited program is not required.
Salary Range: $53.67 - $70.97
