Make a Real Difference SEN Teaching Assistant in Edgbaston / Harborne

Schools in Edgbaston and Harborne Birmingham are seeking compassionate patient and motivated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to support pupils with a variety of learning communication and emotional needs.

SEN TAs play a vital role in helping children reach their full potential. You will provide 1:1 or small group support assist teachers in adapting lessons and help pupils gain independence confidence and social skills. This is a highly rewarding role where your support can have a direct impact on a childs education and wellbeing.

Your Role as an SEN TA

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN

  • Adapting learning materials and resources to meet individual needs

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting self-regulation

  • Supporting pupils in developing social emotional and communication skills

  • Observing recording and reporting pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs

  • Assisting pupils during transitions between activities or classrooms

  • Supporting therapy or intervention sessions

  • Assisting pupils with personal care where necessary

You will be a calm consistent and encouraging presence helping pupils navigate both academic and social challenges while fostering confidence and independence.
