Year 2 Teacher – Cobham

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Cobham starting as soon as possible. This is a key role supporting pupils as they consolidate learning in Key Stage 1 and prepare for the transition into Lower Key Stage 2.

The Role

As a Year 2 Teacher you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across all subjects tailoring your teaching to meet the needs of all pupils. You will use assessment effectively to monitor progress identify gaps and provide targeted support. Encouraging independence resilience and positive learning behaviours will be central to your classroom practice.

You will work closely with teaching assistants Key Stage 1 colleagues and senior leaders to maintain high standards across the phase. Effective communication with parents and carers is also key to supporting pupil progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum

• Monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners

• Maintain a structured positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Promote independence resilience and positive behaviour

• Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Participate in staff meetings CPD and school improvement initiatives

Who Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 ideally Year 2

• Be confident delivering the curriculum and assessment strategies

• Have strong classroom management and organisational skills

• Be reflective adaptable and proactive

• Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding

• Work effectively as part of a supportive team
