Year 1 Teacher – Dudley

Teach and Inspire Pupils at the Start of Key Stage 1

We are seeking a dedicated enthusiastic and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Dudley starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach pupils transitioning from Reception into Key Stage 1 helping them consolidate early learning while developing confidence independence and essential skills across all curriculum areas.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class delivering engaging high-quality lessons across the curriculum. The school values inclusion collaboration and pupil wellbeing and is looking for a teacher who can inspire pupils academically socially and emotionally.

Your Role

As a Year 1 Teacher you will plan and deliver lessons that challenge pupils of all abilities. You will track progress identify gaps in learning and adapt teaching strategies to ensure every child achieves their potential. Supporting pupils personal social and emotional development is a key part of the role fostering resilience and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 1 curriculum

• Use assessment to monitor progress and inform planning

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners

• Maintain a structured inclusive and positive classroom environment

• Promote positive behaviour resilience and independent learning

• Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers

• Participate in staff meetings planning sessions and CPD

• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives

Who Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 ideally Year 1

• Be confident in curriculum delivery assessment and differentiation

• Possess strong classroom management and organisational skills

• Be reflective proactive and adaptable

• Demonstrate commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding

• Have a positive professional approach to teamwork

Early Career Teachers are welcome and will be supported with mentoring.
