At Watchdog we are building AI that stops companies from overpaying.

Businesses all over the world rely on invoices. Yet invoice verification and contract compliance are still handled manually across spreadsheets emails and siloed systems. Millions in invoicing errors slip through contracts are not enforced and money quietly leaks out of organizations.

We believe this should be automated. Watchdog continuously checks invoices against signed contracts and alerts companies when something is wrong before money leaves the business.

Our mission is to give companies real visibility and control over their spend by turning contracts into enforced systems. We are early ambitious and focused on solving a concrete high-impact problem.

Now we are looking for our first technical hire to help us build the product the platform and the company from the ground up.

The role

As our Founding Engineer you will work side by side with the founders to turn ideas into products. You will have meaningful influence over architecture technology choices and how we build going forward.

You will own large parts of the system end to end make foundational decisions early and help set the technical and cultural bar for everything that comes after.

What you will work on

• Build and own core systems across the full stack from infrastructure to frontend

• Design and implement scalable APIs services and data pipelines

• Implementing state of the art AI agents

• Make early architectural decisions with long-term scalability in mind

• Translate complex business and data problems into clean technical solutions

• Ship features quickly while maintaining a high quality bar

• Shape engineering standards tooling and way of working from day one

You will be involved in everything from product discussions to production deployments

Who we think will thrive here

We are looking for someone who wants responsibility and impact.

You will likely recognize yourself in several of these:

• You have built a product you are genuinely proud of professionally or independently

• You are comfortable working across the stack (TypeScript React PostgreSQL)

• You enjoy solving ambiguous problems and figuring things out as you go

• You care about simplicity good abstractions and developer experience

• You work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.

• You are excited by early-stage environments where things move fast and you have a direct impact on the company.

Nice to have - but not required

• Experience with AI-driven products machine learning or LLMs

• Exposure to B2B SaaS fintech or enterprise integrations

• Previous experience in an early-stage startup
