Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in residential and commercial buildings.
- Inspect buildings and repair systems including plumbing electrical and HVAC systems.
- Handle small to medium renovation projects as required.
- Install and repair fixtures and appliances ensuring they meet safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to client requests for repairs and maintenance services.
- Maintain and document records of services performed and materials used.
- Help clients with preventative maintenance measures and recommend upgrades when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople to complete complex jobs.
- Provide excellent customer service addressing client questions and concerns effectively.
- Adhere to safety protocols and building codes during work activities.
- Manage tools and equipment to ensure they are well-maintained and secure.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a related position.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing electrical systems and HVAC maintenance.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used for repairs and maintenance.
- Good physical condition; ability to lift heavy objects and work in challenging conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills able to interact professionally with clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Flexible availability including the ability to work evenings or weekends if needed.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Basic computer skills for managing records and communications.
