Theatre Assistant

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Theatre Assistant to join us in a permanent part time or full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU maternity emergency and medical surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.

Salary range: $31.24 - $35.66 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

The Theatre Assistant / Orderly will provide effective and efficient orderly support service to our clients based on a customer focus philosophy.

• Safely transport patients and equipment within the Mater complex
• Assist with patient positioning utilising a variety of positioning aids and specialised equipment
• Remove soiled linen rubbish and sharps containers
• Perform duties within the departmental scope of duties
• Fulfill additional duties as requested
• Promote a safe and harmonious workplace
• Comply with Hospital and Departmental Policies & Procedures
• Provide support services including patient transport waste and linen management
• Actively engage in self-development and performance management

About you

The successful candidate will have a current Open Drivers Licence (with no restrictions).

• Certificate III in Health Support Services highly desirable
• Experience in obstetric theatres highly desirable
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety and anti-discrimination practices
• Strong customer service and communication skills
