Heres how an Estimating Intern for PCL Construction Services Inc. within Minneapolis contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
As an Intern you will be given similar responsibilities as a full-time entry-level Estimator. You will have the opportunity to participate in company training opportunities events and community volunteer opportunities.
- Reviews quantity survey assignment with lead estimator
- Performs general sub-trade solicitation duties
- Bid document control
- Performs bid day assignments
- Sub-trade bid reviews and recapping
- Visits job sites periodically
- Use of in-house estimating software (BEST Estimating)
- Develops relationships with subcontractors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology Construction Management or similar degree
Must be authorized to work in the US *PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B etc.) for this position
Any experience using the following; On-Screen Takeoff Microsoft Excel and Word Revit Acrobat and other computer software
Required to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with project personnel suppliers subcontractors and owners
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications and perform quantity take offs
Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test
Skills that are a Plus for the Estimating job stream:
Knowledge of unit pricing and a general understanding of conceptual estimating
Prior experience working in construction
Have a general understanding of contract agreements; Lump Sum Design Build Project Management Construction Management Public/Private Partnership
The estimated hourly wage range for this role is $20 - $24 per hour based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
