What will you be doing
- Ensure effective application of workplace safety and health requirements in line with Singapore WSH legislation approved codes of practice and the project Safety Management System.
- Carry out systematic hazard identification and risk evaluations ensuring suitable control measures are established and maintained for all site activities.
- Promote a strong safety culture by delivering safety inductions briefings and awareness initiatives and verifying workforce competency through training records and assessments.
- Support proactive accident prevention by identifying unsafe acts or conditions and recommending timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate incidents near misses and dangerous occurrences assisting in root cause analysis and formulation of preventive measures.
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation including inspection findings incident records permits-to-work and statutory submissions for management and authorities.
- Work closely with project teams subcontractors and external parties to integrate safety requirements into construction planning and daily operations.
- Conduct regular site surveillance and compliance audits recommending improvements to meet statutory contractual and ISO/OHSAS standards.
- Assist the Safety Officer and Project Team in enforcing internal safety rules statutory obligations and certification requirements (ISO 9001 ISO 14001 OHSAS 18001).
- Act as Secretary of the Project WSH Committee coordinating meetings tracking action items and disseminating safety communications to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain safety documentation records and reports to ensure readiness for audits and inspections.
- Participate in risk assessments safety planning and development of Management Programmes.
- Monitor site environmental health programs including vector control infectious disease prevention and site hygiene.
- Support worker management including course coordination reporting sick leave home leave and accommodation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards required by the site developer and oversee safety aspects in public areas of the site.
- Perform routine and ad-hoc site safety inspections to detect hazards related to access equipment temporary works and work practices.
- Monitor execution of Safe Work Procedures for high-risk operations such as lifting activities work at height excavation confined space and hot works.
- Facilitate toolbox meetings and pre-work safety briefings to highlight task-specific risks control measures and current safety concerns.
- Record track and report safety-related incidents near misses and non-conformances ensuring timely follow-up and closure of corrective actions.
- Enforce compliance with mandatory PPE and site safety rules including intervention and work stoppage where imminent risks are identified.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness measures including drills evacuation arrangements fire prevention systems and first-aid readiness.
- Support internal and external safety audits by preparing documentation inspection logs and training evidence and assisting during audit inspections.
- Verify adequacy visibility and serviceability of safety signage emergency equipment fire protection systems and fall prevention devices.
- Monitor Permit-to-Work activities ensuring alignment with approved methods and escalation of unsafe or incompatible works to site management.
Are you the one
- Minimum WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) as stipulated in the Singapore Ministry of Manpowers accepted WSH-related qualifications.
- Minimum Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health
- At least 3 years of relevant working experiences in Singapore construction industry. LTA Experience is preferred
- Ability to work independently good safety knowledge and practices
- Good in reporting communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation safety regulations ISO 9000 ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
- Environmental Control officer certificate is more advantages.
