JOB OPPORTUNITY

The City of Berkeley is seeking a Treasury Manager to join the Finance Department! In this role you will serve as a division-level manager responsible for overseeing all staff and operational activities of the Treasury Division.

The Treasury Manager also assists the Finance Director in the short- and long-term investment of surplus City funds; maintains fiscal accountability for all City monies; manages the Citys banking relationships; coordinates the implementation of the Citys online payment program; and serves as the operational lead for Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. This position has oversight of the Citys centralized cashiering operations revenue development and audits and the collection of delinquent accounts.

A typical way of gaining the knowledge skills and abilities outlined above is:
Possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in accounting finance business or public administration or a closely related field; and five (5) years of progressively responsible professional accounting finance or investment operations experience and two (2) years of which must have been at the management or supervisory level.

Other requirements: Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill job responsibilities. When driving on City business the incumbent is required to maintain a valid California drivers license as well as a satisfactory driving record.

EXAM PROCESS

Tests may consist of any combination of written oral or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include but are not necessarily limited to typing math reading writing and analytical skills; problem solving ability; computer and software proficiency or any other job-related knowledge skill ability or qualification. The examination process and dates are subject to change. The City may without notice change or eliminate any assessment component as needs dictate. Applicants passing all examination phases will have their names placed on an employment eligible list that hiring departments will use to conduct final selection interviews.
