Position Description
This is a Non-Civil service position located within the Justice Integration Services Department. The Software Developer will be responsible for the design and development of client/server case managements systems. The Software Developer works with business analysts and end users to develop requirements for software conforming to established standards.

Typical Duties
- Design and code screen layouts graphical user interfaces printed outputs and interfaces with other systems
- Ability to interpret business rules and software requirements and translate them into program logic
- Develop and maintain plans outlining steps and timetables for developing programs
- Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors issues or questions about applications
- Perform unit tests for software applications
- Prepare documentation of program development and subsequent revisions inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program
- Good listening and overall communication skills
- Work well in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of experience in database applications development and client/server application development using Power Builder (Visual Basic 6 or Delphi experience will also be considered).
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Preferred Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience using Oracle PL/SQL to create SQL Packages Procedures Functions and Triggers
- Knowledge in C# .NET MVC Web Services JavaScript SQL Server and WordPress
- Full life cycle development experience
