Catholic Charities of Baltimore Intergenerational Center is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician who will perform a variety of maintenance tasks including skilled repair drywall modification installation and upkeep of Senior Community facilities equipment and structures. Ensures all job duties align with the Agencys mission vision values and commitments.
The work schedule requires flexibility (rotating schedule - Monday -Sunday - 7am-3:30pm (EARLY) /9am-5pm (MID) /11am-7pm (LATE).
Sample Schedule:
SUN - OFF MON - EARLY TUES - LATE WED- MID THURS - EARLY FRI - EARLY SAT - OFF
The Intergenerational Center will provide a range of programs and opportunities for people of all ages and entire families in one central state-of-the art facility. The Intergenerational Center will feature and offer: Early Head Start and Head Start education gathering spaces for community groups a start-of the art recreation center workforce development services a community health clinic behavioral health and substance abuse services playgrounds and more. As an Intergenerational Center our programs will be designed to foster engagement across generations so that people of all ages can learn and benefit from one another. The work schedule requires flexibility (rotating schedule - Monday -Sunday - 7am-3:30pm/9am-5pm/11am-7pm).
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs complex daily repairs of buildings and equipment in accordance with work orders ensuring timely and accurate completion including:
o Plumbing air conditioning heating systems and appliances
o Identification and reporting of electrical repair/installation issues
o Painting drywall and general carpentry (e.g. door hanging window sash operation siding
and roof repairs)
o Routine replacement of failed lighting and equipment - Carriers out basic repairs routine and preventative maintenance as assigned following the safety and quality standards.
- Ensures routine care and cleanliness of facility floors and supports the general upkeep of all public spaces including buildings grounds walkways entrances and related areas.
- Implements the annual preventive maintenance plan for Carolyn E. Fugett Intergenerational Center maintaining accurate records of completed tasks.
- Recommends corrective maintenance repairs and capital improvements to support long-term facility sustainability.
- Researches and proposes equipment replacements; prepares and presents recommendations to the Operations Supervisor.
- Coordinates maintenance activities with the Operations Supervisor demonstrating accountability in communication task prioritization and time management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Five (5) years experience working in the maintenance field including electrical plumbing HVAC general carpentry painting and equipment repairs.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- Certification in various technical fields is desired.
- CPR and/or First Aid within six months of employment and maintained thereafter.

- Demonstrates the ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Ability to use or willingness to learn computer systems and software necessary to perform the duties of the position. This includes but is not limited to basic computer skills web browsing online training and email usage.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is fully on-site; No remote or hybrid work availability based on core and essential functions of the position.
- Ascending or descending ladders stairs scaffolding ramps poles or other similar structures as required to perform job tasks.
- Positioning oneself in ways to accomplish tasks in various environments including navigating tight or confined spaces as needed to complete job responsibilities safely.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 75 pounds in all directions which may include lifting carrying pushing pulling or repositioning items as necessary to perform job duties.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools to complete tasks ensuring proper handling safety protocols and maintenance procedures.
- May require working in confined or enclosed spaces which could involve limited airflow restricted movement and potentially hazardous conditions. Employees must adhere to safety guidelines for confined spaces and be prepared to work in areas that may cause discomfort or require special training and equipment.
- Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience and a valid drivers license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede drivers ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.
