Job Summary
CEDA is looking for a 2nd year Apprentice Pipefitter to work in our fabrication shop.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in Installation of new mechanical equipment (e.g. pumps compressors air dryers converters heat exchangers relief valves pressure-reducing valves condensate tanks recirculation pumps booster pumps pneumatic controls coils isolation valves 3-way valves condensate traps)
- Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
- Liaise and collaborate with other trades consultants and suppliers
- Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
- Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others including training.
- Read and interpret drawings blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Cut openings for pipe in walls floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- Measure cut thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
- Install supports valves piping and control systems
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications:
- Registered Pipefitter/Steamfitter apprentice status required
- 1 year laborer experience
- Class 5 drivers license (GDL not accepted) able to provide an abstract with no more than 5 demerits in last 3 years
- Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances
- Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test booked by CEDA
